Ciaran Ryder Dip.AC, Mcma, MAcS

Proud to say that I was born and raised here in our beautiful Cornwall but lucky enough to have lived, worked and enjoyed many parts of the world.

On leaving school, I played football professionally before injury put an end to that dream. However, it was when working in Hong Kong shortly after that the seed of East Asian medicine truly got planted, experiencing first hand the extraordinary benefits of various practices, in particular acupuncture which allowed me to regain a level of pain free movement that I was learning 'just to accept and live with'.

On returning to the UK I enjoyed a eventful career in hospitality but years of late nights, irregular work patterns and unsustainable lifestyle choices caught up forcing me to address behaviours that were damaging to both physical and mental health, but now have proven invaluable life experiences ,putting me in a informed position to recognise, empathise and support people from all walk's of life when facing their own challenges. The mind and body are intrinsically linked in each individuals health, dictating how we move throughout the world externally and how we treat ourselves internally.

Moving back to West Cornwall in early 2012, regular doses of nature & vitamin-SEA became part of daily life, boosting the confidence to start the foundation learning with the International College of Acupuncture supplemented by various courses in body mechanics , understanding the importance of addressing and balancing ALL THE INTERNAL MIND/BODY SYSTEMS when trying to promote improved well-being.

I consider myself fortunate to be able to offer treatments at an time when advances in research are beginning to offer the answers and understanding to why they have been continually successful in clinical practice for centuries.

The year I was born was 1973, the year of the Water Ox.
